Each Bedstead Imperial mattress is meticulously hand-nested with 1720 individually pocketed springs by Vispring's skilled artisans. Designed specifically for bedsteads, this mattress is available in a range of firmness options to suit various preferences.
The Bedstead Imperial epitomises luxury in mattress form. Vispring exclusively utilises natural fillings to enhance the opulence of its mattresses. Tailored for slatted bedsteads, the mattress is equipped with a wool spring protector pad for added support. Its sumptuous layers include 1000gsm of British Fleece Wool Cotton Blend, 1200gsm of Long Stranded Horsehair Blend, 900gsm of British Fleece Wool, and 900gsm of blended British fleece wool and cotton.
Available in four distinct firmness levels—soft, medium, firm, and extra firm—Vispring provides guidelines to help users select the ideal firmness: Soft for up to 11 stone (70kg), Medium for up to 16 stone (102kg), and Firm for up to 20 stone (127kg). Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal preference, as a Vispring mattress delivers unparalleled comfort and support. While the Bedstead Imperial is specially designed for slatted bases, it is equally compatible with ottomans and divan bases. The integrated fleece wool layer ensures the springs are adequately supported when placed on a slatted bed frame. However, it is crucial to note that Bedstead Supreme (and all sprung mattresses) should not be used on slatted bases with slats spaced more than 7.5cm apart.
Traditional hand-tufting enhances the mattress’s tension and durability, complemented by two rows of hand side-stitching for additional sidewall support. Handles are included to assist in rotating the mattress as needed. The Bedstead Imperial requires seasonal rotation, alternating between the two sleeping surfaces; we recommend rotating it every two weeks for the first two months to ensure even settlement.
