The Bedstead Supreme lives up to its name as an exceptional mattress. It boasts luxurious, all-natural fillings—Vispring exclusively uses natural materials. This mattress includes a wool spring protector pad, tailored for slatted bedsteads. Additionally, it comprises several layers for enhanced comfort: a 1000gsm British Fleece Wool Cotton Blend, topped with a 1200gsm Long Stranded Horsehair Blend, another 900gsm layer of British Fleece Wool, and a final 900gsm layer of blended British fleece wool and cotton.
Available in four firmness levels—soft, medium, firm, and extra firm—the Bedstead Supreme offers tailored support. Vispring provides guidelines for selecting firmness based on weight (Soft up to 11 stone (70kg), Medium up to 16 stone (102kg), and Firm up to 20 stone (127kg)), but the ultimate choice rests with the user. Although this mattress is designed for slatted bases, it is equally compatible with ottoman and divan bases. When used with a slatted bed frame, the additional fleece wool layer ensures full spring support. However, it's crucial that the slats are no more than 7.5cm apart to maintain optimal performance.
Enhanced durability and tension are achieved through traditional hand-tufting and two rows of hand side-stitching, which provide additional sidewall support. The mattress features handles for ease of rotation and turning as needed. The Bedstead Supreme requires seasonal rotation, alternating between the two sleeping surfaces. For the first two months, we recommend fortnightly rotations to ensure even settlement.
