Vispring understands that comfort cannot be compromised for luxury. The Bedstead Distinction model boasts 2450 pocket springs in a king-size mattress. These springs, made from 1.32mm Vanadium steel and measuring 52mm in diameter, are enclosed in individually sewn calico pockets. Expertly assembled into a honeycomb structure by Vispring's skilled artisans, these springs provide exceptional support across four distinct tension levels. Known for inventing the pocket spring, Vispring brings over a century of expertise to every mattress they craft.
The Bedstead Distinction is upholstered with the highest quality natural fillings. A wool spring protector pad cushions the supportive pocket springs, complemented by 1000gsm of bonded British fleece wool and cotton. Additionally, 1350gsm of hand-teased, long-stranded horsehair is intricately blended with Shetland Isle fleece wool and bamboo. These luxurious fillings are encased within a hair-proof cambric cover, topped off with a 900gsm layer of blended Shetland Isle fleece wool and cotton, and hand tufted with woollen tufts. The finishing touch is a satin ivory Belgian ticking from the prestigious Vispring collection.
With a depth of 23cm plus 6cm doming (+/- 2cm), the Bedstead Distinction features four rows of meticulously hand-stitched sides. Horizontal handles facilitate easy rotation and turning of the mattress, while air vents promote airflow through the natural fillings. The border edges are upholstered in protective lambswool, and the mattress is completed with a piped ticking finish.
